Callum entered the world of compliance in October 2022, and became a qualified Compliance Certifier in March 2024.
His varied background prior to entering the industry included ownership of an access equipment hire business, workplace safety training and a range of middle management roles in transport, retail and hospitality.
Callum believes having spent time across various industries and business models, he is well equipped to understand the intricacies of a wide range of challenges in the workplace.
Elizabeth has been with Chemsafety since 2004 and has been a Compliance Certifier since 2014. Coming into Chemsafety in the early days Elizabeth has had experience in the areas of Occupational Hygiene, Asbestos Surveying, and Hazardous Substances.
She now works primarily in hazardous substance area, and she has been pivotal in establishing the Chemsafety procedures for certification. As a Compliance Certifier Elizabeth can help with any location compliance, certified handler issues and has expanded her scope as a Certifier to include stationery container systems as they apply to diesel tanks.

Based in Christchurch, Janet is a Compliance Certifier and Director of Chemsafety Ltd. Having joined Chemsafety in 2002, with a technical analysis and occupational hygiene role, she has since specialised in the Hazardous Substances space, with an in-depth knowledge of the regulations and the challenges faced in applying these in practice to a wide range of New Zealand workplaces.

With a dedicated staff of three, Kelvin brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as a Compliance Certifier and Health and Safety Consultant. His extensive background, including years as a Builder and Police Officer as well as working in Australia, has equipped him with a unique perspective and skill set that enables him to assist companies with a wide range of needs.
Kelvin not only helps businesses meet their Health and Safety requirements but also provides invaluable guidance on handling Hazardous Substances and Compliance Certification. His proficiency extends to issuing Location Compliance Certificates and Stationary Container Systems Compliance Certificates, further solidifying his commitment to creating safer work environments. Aaron is the director of Total Compliance Group, with a passion of offering hazardous substance compliance to a wide range of industries.
From an engineering background to a bachelor’s degree in IT and now with 15+ years’ experience certification, Aaron has seen what happens in the real world and has real answers to industries problems.
Aaron has a wide scope of approvals from Class 1 (Explosives) to Class (8) Corrosives and all in between. Whether its advice, consultation or certification he has knowledge to help PCBU’s through the Pathway… Minefield of regulations.
Aaron is currently an active member of the HSPNZ executive with a role of technical advisor.

Brendan has been working in the Health and Safety and Hazardous Substances field for over twenty years. Brendan was a Health and Safety Inspector with the Department of Labour where he was a warranted Health and Safety inspector and Hazardous Substances enforcement officer before joining the team at Envirohaz and focusing on Hazardous Substances compliance certification for the last 18 years.
Brendan is a Hazardous Substances Compliance Certifier and a Director at Envirohaz.
Ken is provides technical compliance advice and support to the Chemical Industry, importers,manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, end-users, territorial authorities, enforcement agencies, and allied emergency services.
He is a specialist advisor in chemical management for Responsible Care NZ - Compliance, Technical, Hazardous Substance Emergency Technician.
Kirsty is based in Dunedin and is a Compliance Certifier and director of KM Compliance Ltd. For the past 19 years she has been working in the Hazardous Substance area both in a compliance/auditing role and using her previous background in IT, to develop website and IT solutions to streamline the certification and reporting process. She has a range of approvals that covers Hazardous Substance Locations, Stationary Container Systems (tanks and process vessels), Fillers and Handlers.
Kirsty has been Secretary of HSPNZ since 2019. She also creates our Newsletter and manages the website/member CPD portal.
Rex Alexander operates an environmental, landuse planning, and risk management consultancy specialising in legislative compliance for hazardous substances management against the Health and Safety at Work, Resource Management, Fire and Emergency and Building legislation. He is also a joint equal Director of a multinational company providing training via 3D Virtual and Augmented Reality online in NZ in the legislative environments identified above.
Holding post graduate qualifications in chemical management and toxicology from the University of Otago, Rex completed his Masters focusing on scoping the IT development of a Software as a Service (SaaF) program for chemical emergency management and a Graduate Diploma project developing 3D online training to NZQA Unit Standards and Skills NZ accreditation.
Last century was granted a Local Govt NZ and industry scholarship to study Marine Oil Spill Response spending 6 months in Europe and the UK including attending a Coastguard Agency Marine Pollution Control Unit (MPCU) course and a Masters’ level course in Explosion Prediction & Mitigation at the University of Leeds. The 1990’s was spent working with ERMA then the EPA on the development of the HSNO legislation as an implementation committee member and Ministerial adviser.
As an ex-NZ Army infantry combat medic and NZ Fire Service officer Rex now gives back to those communities, their children and whānau engaging at professional association, government, and ministerial level to have recognised and compensated the medical, physical, and psychological conditions associated with Defence and Emergency Services exposures to toxic environments and in which subjects he is a Doctoral Candidate through Te Pūkenga.
